When not on skates: Mostly spending time with my children and husband. Other than that, with my better half/Sister Dezi, all skate, snowboarding, riding quads and making a muddy mess.

Why derby? My co-worker Dezi Von Dropya had given me a pair of tickets to see the bout against Central Coast in March, the adrenaline, the excitement, I got goosebumps from watching. I signed up in April, I've fallen victim to skates ever since..
Inspiration behind your derby name: Wolverine.. Only thee Best XMen ever. I'm a tomboy at heart, grew up with the cartoon, loved the movies. Lots of people just call me "Reen" for short... so there you go. 9601 is Wolverines mutant number.

Roller Derby saved me from: everything that stresses me out. I get on that floor during practice and I only think of one thing.. skating. I'm not wondering about what bills I have to pay, or some idiot at work.
Hardest hit complements of: "T" better known as Miss Taken, Dropped me so hard I believed that I soiled my undergarments. I've got dropped on my tailbone complements of myself.
Derby Playlist: It's definitely not a big favorite of mine, but for a couple of practices "Satisfaction" by Benny Benassi was on repeat, I dreamed about this song. Anytime I got onto the floor this song played in my head, the girls dancing, Dred and Dezi striking a pose, the smiles and laughs... the rolling of eyes and the expressions of "again?"
Biggest surprise in derby: Remember back in school when shorter, skinnier kids were bullied and picked on? Not in derby, better believe she's gonna hit you just as hard as any other player out there.
